WHAT
WE DO
TFTA works to support, defend and expand public funding for the arts. Our work is directed toward educating our members and allies on effective advocacy practice, supporting the work of our state's legislative arts caucus, and defending the specialty license plate program which provides 80% of the funds granted to nonprofit organizations by the Tennessee Arts Commission.
TFTA works with Local Arts Organizations
From major cultural institutions to grass-roots community centers, TFTA acts as a unified voice that supports the Arts for all Tennesseans.
TFTA supports the Tennessee Arts Commission
The mission of the Tennessee Arts Commission is to cultivate the arts for the benefit of all Tennesseans and their communities. Their vision is a Tennessee where the arts inspire, connect and enhance everyday lives.
TFTA engages legislators to protect & maintain funding for arts in TN through the Specialty License Plate Program
By purchasing an Arts Plate, you support arts organizations, schools and communities across Tennessee. TFTA members understand this funding is our lifeblood and protecting it is crucial.
TFTA supports & promotes the Art Caucus in the General Assembly
The Tennessee Arts Caucus promotes the importance of the arts. It helps facilitate valuable policy discussion on the importance of the arts in our state. The arts have an economic impact on our communities, define who we are culturally and should be a part of nearly every discussion that takes place in the Tennessee General Assembly.
TFTA produces advocacy events, annual Arts Advocacy Day each March at the TN State Capitol
2022 Arts Advocacy Day is set for WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, and is a VIRTUAL GATHERING.
Arts Advocacy Day is produced in partnership with the Tennessee Arts Commission.
