National Arts Action Summit

February 06, 2017

by Rodney Van Valkenburg

Join arts advocates from across the country on March 20-21, 2017 in Washington, DC for the 30th annual National Arts Action Summit, consisting of Arts Advocacy Day and the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts & Public Policy.

As the federal government is no longer divided between parties, we expect the pace of congressional action to accelerate in 2017 meaning that attending Arts Advocacy Day is more important than ever.

Our democracy is not only built on voting on election day, but also active engagement with elected officials in Washington. Now is the time to make sure new and returning Members of Congress hear how essential arts and arts education are to your community.

The arts are bipartisan. The arts make an impact in every community nationwide and we need you to drive the message home with Congress. This is a battle we can't afford to lose. Join us in Washington on March 20-21, 2017.

Rodney Van Valkenburg is the Tennessee State Captain for Arts Advocacy Day and will be arranging visits to Tennessee US Representatives and Senators. Contact him with questions: (423) 777-4214.
