After months of development, TFTA released its Tennessee Arts Advocacy Toolkit at the recent Tennessee Arts Commission’s Talk to Me, Tennessee conference. The toolkit was presented to each attendee in conjunction with the unveiling of the statewide Public Awareness in the Arts campaign.
This toolkit, is designed to:
- Guide TFTA members step-by-step in advocating for the arts.
- Help TFTA members spread the message of how the arts are changing lives in a variety of ways in every community.
- Provide templates for communicating the message of the arts on changing lives in education, cultural tourism, preservation of cultural heritage, performance, business and economic development and much more.
The toolkit also contains a PowerPoint presentation for members to customize to fit their organization and community, while spreading the overall statewide message of the impact and importance of the arts in Tennessee. The complete toolkit and PowerPoint presentation will be available through TFTA’s “Members Only” section of the Website beginning June 1.
According to TFTA President, Bob Willie, “this toolkit equips TFTA members with the knowledge they need to spread the word and raise awareness of the impact the arts are having in the lives of so many individuals and communities across the state. This is a powerful tool that we urge all TFTA members, as arts advocates, to use in their communities.”
Adds Stephanie Conner, TFTA Executive Director, “TFTA’s members are the foot soldiers for the arts in Tennessee. As TFTA works to build a strong groundswell of support for the arts, it is up to us as members to take advantage of the toolkit to increase awareness of and support for the arts. An increase in awareness and support will give TFTA the strength it needs to impact future funding and initiatives for the arts in Tennessee”.
