TFTA ELECTS BOB WILLIE BOARD PRESIDENT

The TFTA Board of Directors has elected Bob Willie as Board President for 2007-2008.

Bob Willie has served as General Director of Chattanooga Ballet since 1987 and has helped to guide the company to new levels of artistic and professional development.  He has served as President of The Tennessee Association of Dance and was the recipient of The Margaret Martin Award for exceptional and significant service to dance in Tennessee.  He serves as a guest director for the Chattanooga Theatre Center and has received several awards for Best Production of the season. He has served as Chairman of the Theater Panel for The Tennessee Arts Commission and as a panelist for The Louisiana Division of the Arts, and the Southern Arts Federation.

“It is an honor to serve as President at a time when TFTA is realizing great progress and undergoing many exciting changes,” said Willie.

The full listing of 2007-2008 officers is as follows:

- Vice President for East Tennessee: Liza Zenni, Arts and Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville
- Vice President for Middle Tennessee : Sarah Youngblood-Ochoa, Nashville Ballet
- Vice President for West Tennessee: Bill Hickerson, West Tennessee Regional Art Center
- Secretary: Kathi Landon-Leatherwood, Jackson Arts Council
- Treasurer: Steve Aiken, Nashville Opera Association
- Immediate Past President: Dr. Jim Brooks, Watkins College of Art and Design

“It is an important time for TFTA as we work to build our momentum and influence”, said Stephanie Conner , TFTA's Executive Director. “I am pleased and encouraged by TFTA's new leadership. I look forward to working with each of them and utilizing their expertise to move TFTA forward”.

The officer's terms are for one year.
